Annual Vehicle Inspection (AVI)

An "Annual" Vehicle Inspection (AVI) is required for all IC units with a "park location" in Canada and any US state other than California. Units with a "park location" in California must pass a "90 day" DOT Safety Inspection to be in compliance with the California Commerce Motor Vehicle Safety Act of 1988.

Cost - Schneider National covers the cost of "one" DOT Inspection per year when performed at a Schneider National Maintenance Facility as required. The IC incurs the cost of DOT inspections performed at an over-the-road vendor and any inspection over-and-above the one per year covered by SNI.

If a unit is found to have a DOT out of service violation at the time of inspection, the unit is placed out-of-service (OOS) until the unit is in satisfactory compliance.
